Governance Lab Procedure
This is the single reference page for participating in the EVIDE Governance Lab. It applies generally to any participant. Each step below states exactly what it does and does not create. Progression from one step to the next happens only after written confirmation from the administrator through the WhatsApp channel indicated at registration — no step is automatic authorization for the next one.
The administrator may refer you directly to a specific step, for example: "Please open https://lab.certifywebcontent.com/terms and complete Procedure Step 2." Each step below has a direct, stable link you can bookmark or receive on WhatsApp.
Full details on the NDA itself — what it covers, how to sign it, and how to return it — are in Section 5 below.
1. Nature of the Service
Access to the Lab is granted exclusively for research, testing, and governance architecture experimentation purposes. By using the Lab, you confirm that you understand and accept its experimental nature.
2. Access Conditions
Access to the Lab is by invitation only. Registration requires manual review and explicit approval by the Lab administrator, following the Governance Lab Procedure above. There is no entitlement to access and no obligation on the part of the administrator to grant, maintain, or justify access decisions.
Each researcher is assigned a unique Lab Code. This code is personal and non-transferable. Sharing your Lab Code with third parties is grounds for immediate access revocation.
3. Access Revocation
Access revocation does not entitle the user to any form of compensation, refund, or data export. Upon revocation, access to the platform is immediately terminated.
4. Research Data Confidentiality
Data submitted through the Lab is used exclusively for the following purposes:
- Executing the governance architecture experiment you submitted the intake for.
- Displaying the evidentiary profile result in your personal Lab session.
- Internal research and development of the EVIDE governance architecture — this does not extend to Participant Materials exchanged within a bounded Experimental Scope under the Governance Lab Procedure, which remain governed by Section 9 below, not by this general purpose.
What we do not do with your data:
- We do not sell, license, or transfer your intake data to any third party.
- We do not use your intake payloads for commercial purposes.
- We do not publish, disclose, or make accessible your intake sessions to other researchers or the public without your explicit written consent.
- We do not train machine learning models on your submitted payloads.
5. Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA)
The Mutual NDA is a separate and autonomous instrument. It is not part of these Terms and is not executed by accepting these Terms, by the registration checkbox, or by a WhatsApp confirmation of Step 2. Where the NDA and these Terms both apply, Section 9 below states how they relate to each other.
When do you need a formal NDA?
The NDA is mutual: confidentiality obligations apply equally to both parties.
For participation that stays within the "optional" case above, the confidentiality terms in Section 4 apply automatically even without a signed NDA. Researchers may still request one, and may request a countersigned copy for their records after signature.
Typical turnaround for countersigned copies: 1 business day.
How to sign and return the NDA:
Two signature methods are accepted — choose one.
Sign the PDF using a qualified electronic signature valid under the eIDAS Regulation (EU 910/2014). Under Article 25(2) eIDAS this has the same legal effect as a handwritten signature. No ID document is required with this option. Send the signed PDF via WhatsApp — WhatsApp is only the transmission channel, not the signature itself.
An advanced electronic signature may also be used. Unlike a qualified signature, it is not automatically equivalent to a handwritten signature under Article 25 eIDAS — EVIDE verifies it individually before countersigning. Send the signed PDF via WhatsApp.
An electronic signature generated through a documented signing service, including Google eSignature, may also be accepted following case-by-case verification of the signer's identity, email address, document integrity, and audit trail. Such a signature is not treated as a qualified electronic signature or as automatically equivalent to a handwritten signature.
Print the PDF and sign it by hand. The signature must be legible — a scribble or illegible mark is not accepted. Attach a copy of a valid personal ID document for identification. You may redact non-essential fields on that document (photograph, unrelated ID numbers), as long as your name and signature remain legible and verifiable. Scan both the signed NDA and the ID document together, then send the scanned file via WhatsApp. See the Privacy Notice for how this ID document is handled.

You are not required to submit real proprietary data to test the Lab, whether or not an NDA is in place. The API accepts synthetic, anonymized, or placeholder payloads that are architecturally valid. All curl examples and API guides use placeholder values for this reason. Governance architecture behavior can be fully observed without exposing any proprietary system information.
6. Data Submitted by Researchers
Intake sessions, governance payloads, and any data submitted through the Lab API or web interface are treated as research data. By submitting data to the Lab, you confirm that:
- You have the right to submit the data for research purposes.
- The data does not contain sensitive personal data of third parties without appropriate legal basis.
- You do not expect the Lab to act as a secure, confidential, or legally privileged archive for the submitted data.
The Lab administrator may access submitted data solely for research, development, and improvement of the governance architecture under study, subject to the confidentiality commitments in Sections 4 and 5 above.
7. No Warranties — No SLA
The Lab is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind. No uptime guarantee, data retention commitment, or service level agreement is offered or implied. The platform may be modified, suspended, or terminated at any time without notice.
The Lab administrator accepts no liability for loss of data, interruption of service, or any damage arising from the use of or inability to use the platform.
8. Intellectual Property and Ownership of Materials
EVIDE materials. The EVIDE Governance Lab architecture, schemas, APIs, documentation, and EVIDE-authored materials and outputs are the intellectual property of Informatica in Azienda — Emanuel Celano. This does not extend to a participant's own independently authored materials or outputs, which are addressed below. Researchers may use and reference EVIDE-authored Lab outputs for non-commercial research purposes with appropriate attribution.
Participant Materials. Any artifact, payload, protocol description, or other material a participant contributes to an experiment ("Participant Materials") remains the property of that participant. Nothing in these Terms, in participation in an experiment, or in the admission of an artifact under Procedure Step 5 transfers ownership, license, or authority over Participant Materials, except as separately and expressly agreed in writing.
Jointly produced materials. Where a document, result, or other output is genuinely produced jointly by EVIDE and a participant within a bounded experiment, its ownership and permitted uses are governed by the specific Experimental Scope for that experiment, or by a separate written agreement, rather than by these general Terms alone.
Any publication, presentation, or public reference to research conducted in the Lab must acknowledge the EVIDE Governance Lab as the experimental environment, and remains subject to Section 10 below.
9. Experimental Scope — Use, Reuse and Precedence
This section governs Participant Materials and any other material exchanged in connection with a bounded experiment under Procedure Steps 4 through 6 — it is what Section 4 and Section 8 above both point to, and it prevails over the general "internal research and development" purpose in Section 4 for that material.
- Participant Materials — artifacts, code, methods, analyses, and other independently produced output contributed by a participant — stay within the boundaries of that experiment's Experimental Scope.
- There is no reuse of Participant Materials for EVIDE's general research, or for any purpose outside that Scope, without a separate written agreement.
- EVIDE may reuse only aggregated, genuinely non-personal technical observations arising from an experiment (for example, whether a governance construct behaved as expected) — never the participant's own content, artifacts, or materials themselves.
Order of precedence: for the specific perimeter of a given experiment, the Experimental Scope for that experiment may contain provisions more specific than these Terms. Such provisions prevail, but only for that one perimeter, and only to the extent they do not conflict with mandatory law and do not purport to modify the Mutual NDA without meeting whatever formal requirements the NDA itself sets for its own modification.
10. Publications and Public Statements
Completion of an experiment is distinct from publication of its results, as set out in Procedure Step 7. Publishing, presenting, or otherwise making public statements about a specific experiment, the materials exchanged within it, its results, or the other party's participation in it requires prior written approval from that other party.
This requirement does not limit either party's right to independently discuss or publish its own pre-existing work, developed outside the specific experiment. No association, endorsement, joint venture, or partnership between EVIDE and a participant may be inferred merely from participation in the Lab, from an executed NDA, or from a completed experiment.
11. Acceptable Use
The Lab may not be used for:
- Commercial purposes or client deliverables without explicit written authorization.
- Submitting data that violates applicable law, third-party rights, or privacy regulations.
- Attempting to circumvent authentication, access controls, or quota systems.
- Automated bulk submissions beyond assigned daily quotas.
- Any activity that could compromise the integrity, availability, or security of the platform.
12. Modifications and Non-Retroactivity
These Terms may be updated at any time. The current version, its version number, and its effective date are always available at this URL. A new version applies going forward from its effective date.
A later version of these Terms, of the Privacy Notice, or of the Mutual NDA is not retroactively applied to a WhatsApp confirmation already given, an NDA already executed, an Experimental Scope already frozen, or an experiment already closed under an earlier version. Each such act remains governed by the document version that was in force at the time it took place.
13. Governing Law
These terms are governed by Italian law. Any dispute arising from the use of the Lab shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Court of Bologna, Italy.
